This guided meditation was inspired by my book from my book club on my Youtube channel: The Book of Joy, Lasting Happiness in a Changing World, and Richard Davidson the neuroscientist in San Francisco. Richard put together neuroimaging research and concluded there are four independent brain circuits in our brain that influence our lasting well-being. The first circuit is our ability to maintain positive states. The second circuit is our ability to recover from negative states. The third circuit is our ability to focus and avoid mind wandering. The fourth circuit is our ability to be generous.
In this guided meditation you’ll be taken through the four Brain circuits that influence lasting well-being. You can call this brain circuit training. In the first part of this meditation, you’ll be guided through techniques to maintain a positive perspective. Then you will practice negative recovery techniques to help you maintain that positive perspective. Thirdly you walk through the fundamental skills of maintaining focus and then be guided into an offering phase where you will engage your generosity.
The music is by Jesse Gallagher: titled Monumental Journey. Check him out on youtube.
